The weather forecast was for cold and wet; based on the view that greeted me this morning I would say it was an accurate assessment.
However, as the afternoon crept along the rain disappeared, the wind lifted and the sun shone on occasion The breeze made for a cool outdoor experience but I was determined to do something in the garden so I got stuck in to weeding, which kept me warm!
To say the garden is currently awash with ground elder would be an understatement -- it's a positive tsunami of the stuff. I'm planning a fuller post on how I have tackled it around the garden, but for today's ramble it is enough to know it was my enemy.
On the photo below you can see the fruits of my labour on the left; on the right is for another day. The Gorilla Tub full of the spoil.
Surprisingly I get a lot of satisfaction from the job but it is back breaking work.
Another photo, this time of a patch that was completely carpeted in the stuff and I believe I have conquered it.
Time for a beer -- helps with the back ache :-)
